報(bào)告人簡(jiǎn)介：鄧少?gòu)?qiáng)，南開(kāi)大學(xué)數(shù)學(xué)學(xué)院教授、博士生導(dǎo)師。主要從事李群與微分幾何的研究，已經(jīng)在Advances in Mathematics, Crelle's Journal, Trans. AMS, IMRN, Math. Z.等雜志上發(fā)表90多篇研究論文，獨(dú)立撰寫(xiě)的專著《Homogeneous Finsler Spaces》2012年由Springer出版社紐約分社出版，列入著名數(shù)學(xué)專著系列Springer Monographs in Mathematics中。已主持6項(xiàng)國(guó)家自然科學(xué)基金項(xiàng)目和2項(xiàng)教育部博士點(diǎn)基金項(xiàng)目。2003年入選教育部?jī)?yōu)秀青年教師資助計(jì)劃，2004年入選新世紀(jì)優(yōu)秀人才支持計(jì)劃，2007年獲寶鋼優(yōu)秀教師獎(jiǎng)，2014年獲全國(guó)高校自然科學(xué)二等獎(jiǎng)（第一完成人），2015年獲天津市教學(xué)名師獎(jiǎng)，2016年獲得天津市五一勞動(dòng)獎(jiǎng)?wù)隆Ｋ?013-2017年度和2018-2022年度教育部數(shù)學(xué)專業(yè)教學(xué)指導(dǎo)委員會(huì)委員。

報(bào)告摘要：In this talk, we will survey the recent results on the study of symmetry of Riemannian and Finslerian manifolds. The main topics will include affine symmetric Finsler spaces, locally and globally symmetric Finsler spaces, weakly symmetric Finsler spaces. We will show that, if k is greater than or equal to 2，then a k-fold symmetric Riemannian manifold must be globally symmetric. This means that there is no intermediate stage between weakly symmetric spaces and globally symmetric spaces.
